The 2019 National Basketball Training Centre national tournament for high school basketball has begun, and right now, the talent level has been truly impressive.

Remember this kid because he’s going to be an NBA lottery pick in a couple of years

As of press time, the NBTC Sweet 16 is underway with so many elite high school teams in the country pitted against each other in addition to Filipino-foreign select teams from countries like Australia, New Zealand, Canada, United States and Italy.

There are tons of great talents to see, especially from foreign-based teams who are brining in a lot of size and depth.

Here is a list of a number of the players who have really shone so far:

Jalen Green (United States) — The no. 1 player in the 2020 US high school class has been taking it easy so far in the NBTC, but he’s on a mission to lead his team further than where they finished last year. Right now, Green is norming a pedestrian 15.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, but he’s expected to play even stronger as they are set to face Ateneo de Manila University in the Sweet 16. Remember this kid because he’s going to be an NBA lottery pick in a couple of years.

Kainoa Ballungay (United States) — Green was a known commodity for Team USA, but one guy who has turned a lot of heads and really exploded is this Hawaii-born 6-foot-7 big man Ballungay.

Tracing his roots from Ilocos Norte, Ballungay, who has shown an affinity for jumping out of the gym, has been balling hard, putting up averages of 21.5 points and 11 boards in two wins for Fil-Am Sports.
