ELI Ramos will not see action for Ateneo in UAAP Season 82.
Team manager Epok Quimpo bared that the 6-foot-3 recruit out of Walnut High School will not suit up for this year but is expected to make his UAAP debut next season alongside his brother Dwight.
Eli averaged 17.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals in his senior high school year with the Mustangs and even saw action for FilAm Sports USA in the 2019 NBTC National Finals.
The Ramos brothers could play side-by-side in the Blue Eagles nest for two years, with Dwight only having two playing years remaining in his collegiate career.
Dwight has been one of the most sought after Fil-Am talents for the past year, with former Gilas Pilipinas coach Chot Reyes including him in the "23-for-2023" cadets pool.
The 6-foot-5 forward played two years for Cal State Fullerston before transferring to Cal Poly Pomona, netting 6.6 points and 3.5 rebounds in his lone season with the Broncos.
Ateneo, however, remains formidable and the heavy favorites this year as Thirdy Ravena, Isaac Go, Ange Kouame and coach Tab Baldwin attempt to complete a three-peat.
