GIANTS collide at Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday as Jalen Green and Kai Sotto clash in the 2019 Chooks-to-Go NBTC League National Finals Supreme 16.
Overcoming tough foes in the Super 32, both Green's FilAm Sports USA and Sotto's Ateneo find face off in the final 16 at 5 p.m.
Green is excited to face off with Sotto in the NTBC tournament proper after previously meeting in the All-Star Game.
"I can't wait to see Kai," said Green, named MVP in the 2018 Fiba Under-17 Basketball World Cup.
But Green did not come alone, with Kai Ballungay, Brandon Wilson, Charleston Moore and Jeron Artest aiming to lead the Fil-Ams once again to the quarterfinals.
Sotto, meanwhile, is motivated to prove that the Blue Eaglets are contenders here despite just getting past by Lyceum-Cavite, 86-84 in the Super 32 late Tuesday night.
And what better way for him to do that than eliminating Green and company as early as the round of 16.
"Nagkita kami sa Argentina noong Fiba World Cup. Gusto ko siya maging kakampi sa All-Star, pero hindi na ako papayag na madakdakan niya ako ulit," said the 7-foot-2 Sotto.
Ateneo, though, would also need contributions from Forthsky Padrigao, Geo Chiu and Ian Espinosa in the tough match.
