NBTC | Filam Sports d. Perpetual Help-Jonelta, 86-55



PASAY CITY – Filam Sports of the United States put up a defensive clinic in stopping University of Perpetual Help System-Jonelta, 86-55, in the opening round of the 2019 Chooks To Go SM National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) National Finals Tuesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.  They limited the Saints to only seven and 10 points in the middle two periods to barge into the Round of 16.


Big boy Kainoa Ballungay asserted his huge height and heft advantage over his defenders to knock down 24 points on top of eight rebounds.  Brandon Wilson was next with 14 points and eight rebounds while Jeron Artest almost had a triple double with 12 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.


Michael Joseph Homo was the top gun for the Saints with 16 points but lacked support from his teammates.  Marc Johnedel Abalon followed with only nine points.


Filam Sports will now wait for the winner of the match between Dolores National High School of Eastern Samar and Cebu NBTC champion Southwestern University-Phinma.  The Saints will now contend for the Division II crown along with the 15 other opening round losers.
