NYC Hoops | Countries Battle in WBAC Int’l Showcase

BRONX, NY – On Saturday, the Philippines, Panama, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, China and Puerto Rico participated in the inaugural World Basketball Ambassador Club’s International Showcase held at St. Raymond HS. The games featured local players with roots from four countries and the games were exciting.

Philippines Takes Down Panama, 125-111



In a high scoring affair, the Philippines surprised Panama with a concerted offensive attack led by Ron Harper, Jr. ’17 and 5’10” Jordan Bartlett (St. James (MD) ’16). Increasing its lead quarter by quarter, the Philippines went on to win by 14 points.

Bartlett was unstoppable scoring a tournament high 47 points for the Philippines with Harper, Jr, son of former NBA star Ron Harper, adding an impressive 38 points.
